Artist
Statement
I paint
raw
feeling
which
isn’t
necessarily
light
and
flowery
all the
time. My
goals as
an
artist
are to
express
ideas
that
need a
voice.
Art is
meant to
create
feeling,
which
leads to
discussion,
and
eventually
an
interesting
perception.
That is
what
life is
about.
Evolution
through
enlightenment.
Most of
my
chosen
materials
consist
of
paints
and
canvas;
however
I have
recently
dabbled
in
digital
photography.
Being
close to
my work
is
important
so I
usually
end up
including
my hands
and
household
objects
when
creating
each
piece.
All my
paintings
are
created
from a
quick
vision,
followed
by a
continuous
stream
of
consciousness.
I refuse
to stale
my art
by
over-planning
or
over-idealizing.
Lately,
I’ve
been
diving
into
dream
interpretation,
symbolism,
and
women
studies.
My
thesis
is ever
changing
as is my
life.
This is
benefited
by the
use of
my art
as a
therapy
for me
and for
others
as well.
Art has
a
wonderful
healing
effect
if one
can
allow
themselves
to
emotionally
oscillate
with a
specific
piece.
